Project Description

Redcross Village is a premium residential development in Bristol comprising 46 luxury apartments and penthouses, with a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom accommodation.

Originally conceived as a build-to-rent development, the project underwent a significant change in delivery strategy during construction, with a number of apartments subsequently redesigned for open market sale. This introduced a phased handover programme aligned with purchaser completion deadlines, requiring careful coordination and management across both the design and construction teams.

CBS Role

CBS Engineering were originally appointed directly by Palm Properties to undertake a peer review of the existing MEP design during the construction phase. Following the identification of a number of technical and coordination issues within the incumbent design, CBS Engineering were subsequently appointed to assume responsibility for the RIBA Stage 5 MEP design together with management of the on-site MEP installation works.

During the course of the project, the main contractor’s appointment was terminated, after which CBS Engineering took on a wider project delivery role supporting the management and coordination of the remaining works through to completion.
